Women’s Soccer Takes #7 Ranking into 2024-2025 Season
Head Coach Jeff Patten and the Knights look to build off a National Championships run in 2023, take #7 ranking into 2024.
On Monday, NJCAA released their pre-season soccer polls for the upcoming season, where the CCRI Knights found themselves in the top 10 to begin their 2024 campaign. To see full rankings visit NJCAA DIII Women's Soccer Rankings 2024
Headlined by a number of talented returners, the Knights are coming off a 10-4-1 season and a perfect 10-0 record in conference play. Their success in 2023 was rewarded with a bid to the NJCAA DIII National Championship Games, where the team gained some valuable experience they plan to take into 2024.
The Knights quick-paced offense, led by returning Captain Rosmari Ribera, found themselves ahead of the pack averaging just over four goals per contest. Margeory Giron-Reyes (9), Herlinda Gutierrez (8), Ariel O’brien (7), and Kylie Brito (5), were the top goal scorers among returners, combining for 29 of the teams' 61 goals in 2023. They find themselves ready to fully take over a goal-hungry Knights offense.
To back the heavy artillery, the Knights bring back a well-rounded group of defenders and mid-fielders to their 2024 campaign. The group is highlighted by returners Kylie Brito (D), Maria Ochoa (D), Meadow Santos (D), Felix Burns (D), Hailee Manteiga (CM), and Kelsey Hatch, (MF), in which the Knights allowed just 11 goals all season prior to their Championships appearance.
The Knights season kicks off in a few weeks where Head Coach Jeff Patten will be preparing to bring his team back to a National Stage.
